Other lands held of the honor of Huntingdon were those in the possession of the Daubeny family; William Daubeny died seised of land in Boughton c. 1 264,^' and in 1282 this holding was said to amount to 32virgates.2It may have been afterwards acquired by the lords of the chief manor for there is no further trace of it. | ||

British National Library as part of the “St. John Evidence” (Lansdowne MS 860 A, beginning at folio 348b) where on folio 349a there is a transcript of a deed in Latin from Richard Abell of Fonmon, acting in the capacity as a trustee, to Henry de St. John, son of William de St. John. “The Manor and Castle of Fonmon, Near Barry”, on page 65 it discusses this deed, saying that Richard Abell was a chaplain, surmising that Henry St. John was a younger son of William St. John and that William St. John was probably deceased at the time of the deed. While the deed itself does not contain a date, the names of the parties and witnesses and other identifiers in the document have caused Mr. Thomas to approximate the date to be c. 1300. Of particular note, one of the witnesses was Henry’s uncle, Philip de St. John, the grantee of the c. 1290 deed. | ||
