Petitioners: Robert de Pavelly, son and heir of Laurence de Pavelly. Name(s): de... Reference: SC 8/239/11924 Description: Petitioners: Robert de Pavelly, son and heir of Laurence de Pavelly. Name(s): de Pavelly, Robert Addressees: King and council. Nature of request: Robert, son and heir of Laurence de Pavelly, states that his father petitioned parliament to be discharged of 30s 6d for certain lands assarted in his manor of Paulerspury, at a time when the manor was within Whittlewood forest, and that justices were appointed to inquire into this, and that as a result a writ was sent to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer to discharge him of this sum. But because the enrolment in the exchequer for the 30s 6d gives a different name for the manor, they have refused to do this - although the two names refer to the one place. He asks that people might be appointed to inquire into whether this is so or not, and that, if it is found that it is, he might be discharged. Nature of endorsement: [None] Places mentioned: Paulerspury, Northamptonshire; Whittlewood Forest, [Northamptonshire]. People mentioned: Laurence de Pavelly; Robert de Pavelly. Note: Apparently formerly enclosed with no.5661 of C 81/192, which is dated 23 July 6 Edward III (1332). Date: [1332] Related material: For a mandate to the Chancellor to inquire whether the two names refer to the same manor, and when the inquisition has been returned, to give the petitioner justice and reason, see no.5661 of C 81/192 Held by: The National Archives, Kew Legal status: Public Record(s) Language: French Closure status: Open Document, Open Description https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C9335488 | ||
