Ancestral surnames: St. John
Notes: Descends from Jasper Singeon of Ballingrane, Limerick, Ireland, UK abt. 1715-1796.
He does not match the St. John descendants of Ralph St. John-Paynel.
His ancestryDNA prove his St. John descent from Philip St. John and Ann Dolmage.
Theory suggests this is an unrelated Germanic lineage. Without more test subjects for this branch, it's unclear if this is a separate lineage or NPE of the St. Johns of Normandy.
Jodie upgraded to Big Y and his terminal SNP is found in Mannheim and Zurich Germany.
According to the Palatine theory an Elias and Philip Sonjohn or John came to Ireland. I realized this could be Ellis Mewes-St. John, JR. In 1703, by an act of Parliament, Ellis Mewes took the St. John surname. His mother and wife were both de Port-St. Johns. His wife was his 1st cousin.
His lineage is only known to about circa 1530. There are quite a few German Mewes records in Ancestry's databases. It seems highly possible Jodie's ancestor Philip born about 1680 is an unknown son of Ellis Mewes, Sr. and Christiana de Port-St. John.
