The 4th of January. 1635(6). It is ordered that the p'tyes here under written shall have great lotts at the bounds betwixt Roxbury and Dorchester at the great hill betwixt the sayd bounds and above the marsh as foll. not to inclose medowe.

It is ordered [January 16, 1636(7)] that Mathias Sension and Thomas Sampford shall keepe the Cowes this yeere to begin the 17th day of Aprill and to continue keepeing them till the 15th of November to have for their pay in keepeing 5 shill the head for as many as are brought in; the sayd five shill. p'head to be payd 1/3 in hand 1/3 at halfe the tyme the other at the end of the tyme.

It is also ordered that all that have Cowes shall put them to the Keepers to be kept in the ordinary Cow pasture, and noen to be put away at the Necke of land or keepe them otherwise about the Towne or from the heard, one payne of 10* for [such] offending. Also that all the live Norwards from the meaning house shall [...] their Cows into the open place befor the meeteing house within an hower of [sunne] riseing and their the Keepers to be ready to drive them away and so to blow their horne along the Towne and whosoever bring not their cowes before Mr. Stoughtons house within an hower of sunnerising, the Keepers shall stay no longer [but] drive away those which are redy to the Pasture and those which through their [owne] neglect have their Cowes behind shall not make that any Barre of payment to the Keepers.

It is ordered that Mr. Joanes and Wm. Sommer shall lay out 4 akers of marsh at the neck for Mr. Aderton which was Jo: Kingsleys and 3 akers for Mr. Withington which was Mathias Sensions.

At a meeting of the Select Men of Dorchester the 14th of the 10th Mo. 1674:

The same day at the motion of Nathaniell Clap, and in referrance to the Voate of the towne the 7th of this Instant in order to the Exchange of land that lys wheer Mr. Sensions house stood, the Select men doe appoint Richard Withington and Daniell Preston to Vew the house and land and the land that he will give in exchange. and as they doe Judge meete soe it shalbe determined.

The same day Richard Withington and Daniell Preston being ordered the 14 10th 74 to Vew the house and land which was Mr. Sensions to Change it for land at neck of land they make returne that they judge meete that when the house and land fall to the towne then he shall give one acre ot land for it joyning to the Church land at the Neck to which the Select men doe agree that it shal be as they have p'posed.

The 23. Aprill. 1638. It is ordered that Mr. Withington shall have adjoyned to his house that was Mr. Sensions the swamp above and the swamp beneath the house for which he p'omiseth to leave out the springs for watering Cattle the Wynter tyme and to leave the Water with out side.

theise p'sents do beare witnes that the daye above said I henry withington of dorchester have sould unto John Birchall of the same towne the House plot that Late was Mr. Senssions with the Celler and the Land now Fenced Round by the afforesaid john Birchall estimated halfe an acre or there about be it more or Lesse to be by him and his heires enjoyed Forever and further that the afforesaid John Birchall and his heires and successors shall From tyme to tyme at al tymes sufficiently maintaine and keepe up the said Fence Round about the afforsaid Land to save the Foresaid henry and his successors from damage through any pt of that fence and it is moreover agreed and consented unto by the afforesaid John Birchall for himselfe and his heires and successors that neither he nor they shall sell or Lett the house and Land afforesaid unto any p'son or p'sons but such as shall be aproved of by the Select men of Dorchester for the tyme beinge; witnes our hands the daye and yeare abovesaid. Witnessed and Recorded by John Wiswall. Moderator p'tempore; signed Henry Withinton the mark [ of John birchall.

The following list of grantees of meadow lands in dorchester is copied by William B. Trask. of Boston, from the original, page 31, of which a reduced facimile is here given. It is a rude map of localities, made probably not later than 1637. The names and quantities are given below.
