    • John St. John was widowed in 1820 and remarried in 1824. They probably lived with extended family in 1830. 25 people (7 slaves) in one family with several adults with close ages probably suggests they were living with a sibling or cousin.

    Notes
    • Research Question:

Did John raise the children of James Bailey and Elizabeth Alford:

namely is Alford St. John actually Alford Bailey raised as a St. John? b. about 1821. Could the unknown children in these census records found for John be Bailey children raised as St. Johns?

His youngest daughter marries a James Alford Bailey. Probably the son/grandson of James Bailey and Elizabeth Alford.
