2. October 1627. I William Bawdripp of Splotte in the countie of Glamorgan Esquire,
3. Being sick in Bodie but of perfect remembrance god be blessed for it, doe make my laste
4. Will and testament in manner and foreme following. First, I give my soule to allmighte
5. God. I bequeath my bodie to the earth to be laid in Saint Maries church in Cardiffe,
6. Where or neere unto my grandfather, William Bawdripp that has benne there
7. Buried. ITEM, I give to the church of Landaffe Thriteene shillings forever [?]. ITEM
8. I give to the church of Saint Maries in Cardiffe twentie shillings. ITEM I give to the
9. Church of Ralphe twentie shillings. ITEM I give to the church of Sansannoc twentie
10. Shillings. ITEM I give to the church of Penmarke twentie shillings. ITEM I give to the poore
11. Of Penmarke twentie shillings. ITEM I give to the poore of Laurarvand twentie shellinges.
12. ITEM I give to the poore of Saint Maries in Cardiffe fifteen shillings. ITEM I give to
13. The poore of the Alineshouse in Saint John’s parish in Cardiffe fifteen shillings. ITEM
14. I give to Craddocke Sherry Clarke Vicar of Cardiffe twentie shillnge And alsoe I doe
15. Releafe and discharge him the said Mr. Sherry of ffortie shillings which he doth owe me.
16. ITEM I give unto Elizabeth Andrews the daughter of Lewis Andrews tenne pounds to =
17. Geather with forrer-pounds. I stand indebted unto her. ITEM I give unto Jane Wilcocke

19. To William Shelbridge, the [?] and tenne which I have in his house in Cardiffe And
20. All the Implemeinte therin. ITEM I give to Edmond Gamadge my servant five pounds
21. And my out sicte of Apparell and my cloake suteable these unto. ITEM I give unto my
22. Cosen Christopher Gwyn my [?] suite of cloth and cloake and tenne pounds of
23. Money. ITEM I give to my man John Doye fortie shillings. ITEM I give to my
24. Servant Katherine tenne shillings. ITEM I give to William Daved the Boye in my
25. Stable tenne shillings. ITEM I give to Thomas Tywell tenne shillings. ITEM give
26. All the rest of my apparel to my cosen Thomas St. John the elder. ITEM I doe give to
27. My nieces Luce St. John and Barbara St. John, two of the daughters of my cosen Sir
28. William St. John, 100 te a peece to be paid to eldest upon the Feast of St. Michaell
29. Tharohougell 1629. And the other 100 th to the youngest upon the feast of St. Michaell
30. 1630. ITEM I give to my cosen Thomas St. John the elder one hundred and fiftie
31. Poundes upon condition and allwaise provded, the he doe discharge my executor
32. And Adminstrator of a debt that I stand engaged for him the said Thomas St. John
33. Unto Thomas Vaughan of Cardiffe to be paid him the said Thomas St. John ---
34. Upon the tenth of October 1629. After that he the said Thomas St. John discharged
35. My said executor (and if not) for much to be abated of the said [?] of one hundred
36. And fiftie poundes. ITEM I give unto cosen Captaine Oliver St. John one hundred
37. And fiftie pounds upon condition that the said Oliver St. John doe discharge my
38. Executor and Administrator of a debeth that I stand engaged for the said Oliver
39. St. John unto Edmond Thomas Esquire, to be paid him the said Oliver St. John upon
40. The Tenth of October 1629 after that the said Oliver St. John hath discharged the
41. Paid debt due unto the said Edmond Thomas, and if not, for much to be abated of his
42. Said [?] by my executor or Administrator that shalbe pyable to [?] the paid debt
43. Unto the said Edmond Thomas. ITEM I give to my cosen Anthonie Gwyn Esquire, my
44. Baye stand horse. ITEM all the rest of all my goodes, chattels, plante [?] and all
45. The implemente of horse and husbandrie what soever unbequethed I gives unto my
46. Welbeloved wife, Katherine Bawdrippe whom I doe appoint to be the sole executrix
47. Of this my last will and testament, revoaking all other former last wills and testaments
48. Whatsoever. In witness whereto I have here unto put my hand and seale. William
